Presenting...the Wallabees

I first fell in love with the Wallabees about 8 years ago. I have prolonged my longing for the shoes for 8 years. I wait no longer. How beautiful are they?

To give you a bit of history, Clarks originated back in 1825 when Cyrus and James Clark set up a small sheepskin slipper business in the tiny English village of Street, Somerset. In 1883, William Clark creates shoes that follow the natural shape of the foot, a revolutionary concept. Fast forward to 1950 when Nathan Clark, inspired by the crepe-soled boots worn by British officers in World War II, introduces the Desert Boot, the first of Clarks Originals. 2007, Lindsay receives her first pair of Clarks. History is made.

I must also mention that I placed my order for the Clarks with the store Straitlaced in L.A. and I have to commend the store and their customer service. That place is awesome. It's on Melrose (7553) and it's fairly small but has some great shoes and Walter, who I assume is the owner, is super nice and laid back and seems to hand pick the choice selection, which is why I chose to order from them in L.A. from Omaha, where they then ordered from England. Like Michael Scott and his customers, I appreciate that personal touch.

Linds--Alex got Wallabees last week too! I guess I'm out of the picture and you guys are the real twins now.

1825, 1883, 1950, 2007: that's the way to give a history. well linds, congrats on finally getting your dream shoe. walter was definitely the way to go. i think he'll be my exclusive shoe dealer from this point forward.

erica, but remember how we were actually the original shoe twins in 118 with those nike running shoes (like they had black and turquoise on them)?!?!? i think that's a fact that is often overlooked but may give you some consolation now that alex and linds have formed a new club (typical).

Oh gosh, Laura, I totally forgot. So glad that I have my real twin back! I'm glad to be a part of the old school club-- it's definitely much cooler than any newly formed club.

exactly, ercia. i mean, linds and alex may have some cool kid thing going (both buying wallabees within the same week), but we had matching nikes and we didn't even know each other -- and they weren't even necessarily in style! but i know, you are, in general, far more excited to be twins with Linds, which i have learned to accept over the years. p.s. remember when we were all in stanford and my mom made Alex and me go on a walk so that you, my mom and caroline could study?!?!

That's so weird that Alex just got Wallabees too. I could've posted photos of both of us styling in our new shoes if I knew that (I guess it still isn't too late).

I would have to vote for this newly formed club being cooler, but it's not too difficult to join, just buy a pair of Wallabees -- I'll even be as lenient as admitting entry with any purchase of Clarks (well not any, because they do have some ugly shoes, but definitely Wallabees and Desert Trek).
