Red Wings Win!

The Red Wings have won the Stanley Cup! Henrik Zetterberg, one of my two favorite players (Pavel Datsyuk being my other), won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Playoff MVP.

In addition to being one of the greatest young players in the NHL, he is also easy on the eyes. I've often referred to him as the Jared Leto of hockey. Here's a comparison.

YAY WINGS!!! The Cup is back in Hockeytown where it belongs! That's funny, Zetterberg does look like Jared Leto...didn't you used to run into him a lot...Leto not Zetterberg? Yes, Zetterberg is good looking...but I think Pavel needs a new barber, get rid of that bowl cut. Crosby might get more points but the three best all-around players in the league are Zetterberg, Datsyuk & Lidstrom.

Agreed. Zetterberg is probably the most complete player in The Show today, at least the best skater. Datsyuk has the best hands, no question, like butter--Land o Lakes. Ummm....but let's not forget that the Red Wings have perhaps the most experienced and stacked lineups in the whole NHL and have won multiple cups within the last decade.

Pittsburgh, on the other hand, was at the bottom of thier division and almost shipped to KC a few years ago due to poor performance and a weak fanbase. Let's also not forget that Pittsburgh's best players can't even buy alcohol in the United States (as if that was not apparent enough from Crosby and Malkin's attempts at playoff beards). And lastly, the most important factor in any playoff is goaltending: Chris Osgood has years of experience in the playoffs and even a few rings...this is Flurey's first real playoff experience and he was right there with the Vets.

Final thought: Detroit clearly dominated that series and deserved to win. But let's show credit where credit is due.

Hey, Hey Hockeytown! It is great that the Red Wings have the Stanley Cup back. And in regards to Zetterberg yes he is good looking. But, it is also great that he is currently successful. Since, I have always thought that Wayne Gretzky was good looking and look at the Phoenix Coyotes. Oh well!

Linds, a non-helmut wearing photo would really help me decide on the similarity

I have always loved Zetterberg since we saw him play like 5 years ago. Seriously, when he won I felt like a mom or something because I was so proud of him! He's been my favorite Red Wing since before he was, you know, really well known.

Pittsburgh does deserve a lot of credit...they had a great season & playoffs & should be a contender for years to come w/ Crosby, Malkin, Fleury, Stahl, etc. No other team could match up w/ the one-two punch of Crosby & Malkin other than us w/ Zetterberg & Datsyuk who are not only great offensively but are 2 of the 3 finalists for the Selke award (best defensive forward), you don't see that very often.
