Sir Tony

Well, it has been a week since I last posted, so I am feeling the pressure to update. I need to keep up my endurance. But what can I write about? That is the question...

There are two exciting things that are coming to my mind at the moment. The first is that Marianne Faithfull is playing at the House of Blues in Anaheim at the end of May. I am very excited and I must go.

The second is that Anthony Hopkins was a guest last night in the class that I work for at USC. He came to class with his new film, Slipstream, a film that he wrote, directed and appears in. I didn't watch the whole film, so I won't comment on it, other than saying it is very strange. Accompanying him were the Italian cinematographer, Dante Spinotti, and editor Michael Miller. The photo I included is one I took of Hopkins and Spinotti during the Q & A. Tony was an interesting and gracious guest, as well as Miller and Spinotti. I am also proud to say that Miller, editor of such great films as Miller's Crossing, Blood Simple, Raising Arizona and Ghost World (among others), helped my friend Dave and I on the New York Times crossword.

Lindsay, i fear you may be using this blog to show off your high-profiling l.a. lifestyle, hanging out with the likes of tony hopkins and doing NY Times crosswords with industry professionals and eating chinese food leftovers for days on end. so, not to be underestimated or excluded, may i just take this moment to share that Stephen Collins, who some of you may know as the Reverand Eric Camden aka the Dad on 7th Heaven, almost narrated the acr's annual video a few year's back.

Maybe next time you'll estimate me. (Michael Scott '06)

p.s. i'm pretty sure its Reverend (i wish i could've added SIC like they do in journalism even though i'm not totally sure what that means).

p.p.s. if i could've attached a photo of Sir Collins i would've. proudly.

Hello? What about Ice-T, Mariska Hargitay, CCH Pounder, Sandy B. (others know her as Sandra Bullock), Brittany Snow, the woman from Everwood and many more? I think next time you should estimate the ACR's star power.

I bet you just Photo-shopped Sir Tony in there. Really, it's just some random guy.

Kinda late to post this, but ah hello Laura is right, u are way underestimating the ACR star power and the ACR dinner celebrity highlights (or lowlights)! Did u forget Kiefer Sutherland actually did narrate the ACR video a few years back, Ryan Seacrest with the longest and dullest live auction in charity history, Bernie Mac using even more bad language than Ice T, live performance by Lindsay Buckingham rockin the B.H. Hotel, NBC power stars Jay Leno, Jill Hennessy and Angie Harmon, the Duckman Jon Cryer in his most embarassing performance ever, and not to mention the ACR stars that turn out for NAD, Bruce Willis, Henry Winkler, Daryl Hannah, Christine Lahti and last but not least your favorite from Arrested Development Tony Hale...and Will Arnett. Yes Linds, just stick with mingling at the ACR events and you'll go very far in this business.
