Proof that you can learn something from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire

Did you know that the name Led Zeppelin refers to the band's pessimistic view of how their music would go over with listeners/audiences?

It took a second for it to click, then I thought it was pretty clever.

it's taken me a few seconds and i still don't get it. could you explain to those of us who are slow? on a side note, i am glad to know that you are keeping up with WWTBAM....which i didn't even realize was still a show and which i don't think anyone has seen since 1999.

It would "go over" like a led (spelling should actually be lead) zeppelin. As in a zeppelin, one of those flying blimp like contraptions made of (or filled with, or both) lead, the heavy metal (which coincidentally is another music term). As you can imagine, a zeppelin made of lead would not go over (as in the sky, above people) well, but would rather crash violently to the ground.

Just to clarify, I am not regularly watching WWTBAM. I saw 1/2 an episode. Although I have also seen two separate halves of Deal or No Deal? and while I do not understand how a show with that premise got made and more importantly how Howie Mandel came to be the host (Little Monsters, anyone?) and how he groomed that soul patch, that show is pretty crazy/addicting despite the fact that it is utterly stupid and takes no skill to be a successful contestant.

ahhh. thank you. well i guess based on their popularity and long-term staying power they could've gotten away with air zeppelin or empty zeppelin. have i seen deal or no deal? i remember seeing one of the new game shows at your house once, but i think it was like 1 vs. 100....is that different?
